Since 2004, Bearers of Love International has been involved with the renovations of drug rehab buildings in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine. It was the dream of a pastor in Dnepropetrovsk to give these men and women a second chance in life. This rehab program allows the men and women to go thru a 2- year program to break their drug or alcohol addictions and to live a better life. The director Pacha has a passion for these people and supervises the 5 sites. We have completed 5 buildings (4 for men and 1 for women) and are now in the process of starting a 6th one. These centers give the over 40 people living in them , a chance to use their construction skills, to grow farm produce for themselves and for market and also raise farm animals. Many of the men have found jobs while the remaining men and women work at the centers in different capacities. Part of their rehabilitation is to give back to the community by cooking meals and delivering them to the homeless. Bearers of Love Int. is proud to partner with these beautiful people.
- Surgeries For Orphans (2) pictures

Many of our donors and friends know that BOLI has many purposes and challenges in Ukraine. Besides providing for orphans, street kids and homeless with basic necessities, food and clothing, we also partner with Ed Dickson, our Canadian agent in Ukraine. Together we're providing surgeries for physically disabled orphans who would otherwise have no hope for living a decent life. Over 50 children have had surgeries, physio and prosthetic devices through Operation Can Be Done Project. Take a look at our photo album.
Once again, your generous donations are changing lives. Thank you very much.!

Homeless men, women and street children live in conditions of extreme poverty. They are deprived of a safe shelter and are not able to satisfy their need for food. They spend many cold nights in abandoned buildings, sewers and under bridges. Obviously they are not healthy. It is also easy to fall into drug addiction or prostitution.
Summers are fine to be fed outdoors but winters are harsh in Ukraine The homeless are fed outside on snow banks and sides of buildings. Our dream is to one day have a central meeting place, like we have here in Montreal, where they can be fed in a warm building.
Bearers of Love continues to provide one meal a day seven days a week for the street kids and the homeless adults. Your donations make this all possible.
- Ruslan Kucherenko - The Freedom Jam (10) pictures

Ruslan Kucherenko is a 30 year- old young man who has a heart for young people, especially older teens. He founded a teen center called Freedom Jam in the city of Korosten. The young adults learn to play musical instruments, practice mimes, dances and songs. Ruslan and his wife Lilia, stop to chat wherever they see a crowd of teens. Their efforts have already taken over 25 kids off the street and into the center. It is a run-down building but they spruced it up as best as possible. These teens now go into orphanages to put their practices into performances for the children. They also do programs on Drug and Alcohol Abuse which have been government approved.. Their club is growing and doing great work in their community. We have sponsored this youth oriented program with technical equipment, musical instruments, and creative arts. They have started their own business by providing entertainment for birthday parties and setting up an amusement park in a town that does not have many activities for children and young people. This youth group also teaches music and dance to orphan children.

In the summer of 2010 we went to an orphanage near the city of Korosten. We were the first foreigners to visit them. Ruslan, our Ukrainian Youth Pastor, has started a work there already. The director wanted to meet us because they were in desperate need of medical supplies, sports equipment and chalkboards. Bearers of Love Int.provided all their requests and also pays the transportation for these orphans to attend Ruslan's youth group every Saturday night.
2011: We continue to support this orphanage. We have provided 230 shoes,, 230 pairs of winter boots, library books, Bibles (donated by a couple in Texas) and now new mattresses.
- Feeding Program for Seniors and the Poor (8) pictures
-
Our partners in Ukraine have initiated another community project. Many seniors (mostly women) earn meagre pensions and once their rent is paid, they don't have much for food. Our people in Ukraine, through your donations, give food bags every Sunday to these seniors. They try to pack a variety of items every week. Thanks again for being part of this community effort.
